The celebrations dedicated to the 2026 Christmas and New Year holidays, which spanned 34 days, have now drawn to a close.
Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze remarked at the municipal government meeting that this year’s New Year festivities were notably large-scale and diverse.
“I hope that the activities held in the New Year Townlet left a warm and pleasant impression on both the residents of the capital and our visitors. I would like to extend my gratitude to every employee of the City Hall, all the services involved in organising these events, and everyone who contributed to creating this festive atmosphere, for their hard work. My thanks also go to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as throughout these days, special attention was given to the New Year Townlet to uphold peace and prevent any disturbances. I am also particularly grateful to the representatives of the various companies who, alongside relevant services, played a key role in organising the New Year Townlet events. Entrepreneurs, without whom the New Year market would be unthinkable, certainly deserve our appreciation. I would also like to thank the artists, actors, bands, and all Georgian performers and creative groups for their successful collaboration. We are committed to creating a magical New Year’s atmosphere for Tbilisi’s residents and visitors for years to come,” said Kakha Kaladze.
The mayor also highlighted the importance of peace within the country, emphasising that the policies pursued by the ruling team are fundamentally aimed at maintaining harmony.
“I would like to once again extend my warmest wishes to all of Georgia for a happy New Year, and above all, I wish peace for our nation. There is no alternative to peace. Given the ongoing global developments, peace is more vital than ever, and the policies implemented by Georgian Dream – Democratic Georgia are centred on safeguarding it. I also wish everyone good health, as it is the most precious gift. May kindness, joy, love, and happiness be the guiding values of 2026,” added Kakha Kaladze.
