"Yes, 20% of our territory is occupied by Russia, but this did not divert Georgia from its European path, - the Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili said in a conversation with CNN.
"I think that Russia was worried about that and became more worried as [European integration] gets closer and closer, since we already have candidate status and can open accession negotiations. And they really won't like it. However, they also did not like the evolution of Armenia. They also do not like the evolution of Azerbaijan and its proximity to Turkey. They also don't like the fact that they can't control the Black Sea the way they want. Everything is not happening as Russia wants. We are loyal. Yes, 20% of our territory is occupied by Russia, but this did not divert Georgia from its European path. This did not stop us even for a second and it will not stop us in the future," Zurabishvili said.
