The Georgian wine producing companies presented their products with the financial and organizational support of the National Wine Agency of Georgia at the international exhibition of wine and alcoholic beverages Vinexpo America in New York.
Participation in an international exhibition of a similar scale is one of the important conditions for diversification of wine markets and export growth.
By participating in Vinexpo America, the Georgian companies have the opportunity to learn about new trends and challenges in the world wine market and find trade partners in the United States of America, which is a strategic market for Georgian wine and where wine quality standards are particularly high.
The Consul General of Georgia in New York, Maia Bartaia, attended the exhibition.
On the days of the exhibition, the Georgian wine tasting for local wine professionals was organized by the American company Colangelo&Partners, a contractor of the National Wine Agency.
It should be noted that, in recent years, the events implemented with the support of the National Wine Agency contributed to increasing the awareness of the Georgian wine in the USA, which was reflected in tangible results. In January-May 2024, 486,000 liters of wine were exported from Georgia to the USA, which is 66% higher than the previous year's figure. The USA ranks 6th in the list of Georgian wine exporting countries. To be informed, the United States of America is one of the most expensive segments for Georgian wine - the average price of one liter of Georgian wine is 6.15 USD.
