Within the framework of celebrating remarkable dates in 2022-2023, Georgia, in November last year, submitted a nomination - "The 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Georgian Technical University," - to UNESCO for consideration.
"The 41st session of the General Conference of UNESCO approved the list of remarkable dates, which will be celebrated in 2022-2023 with the direct participation and support of UNESCO. The nomination submitted by Georgia is among the approved dates," - the letter of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia reads.
"The inclusion of the jubilee of the Georgian Technical University in the list of remarkable dates by UNESCO is the fact of paramount importance, which once again confirms the respect for the Georgian Higher School of Engineering. This is another recognition of the work carried out by our scientists and researchers and the Georgian Technical University - as one of the best educational spaces. It is gratifying that UNESCO supports us in organizing and holding all the events planned in the jubilee format,” - Professor Davit Gurgenidze, Rector of the Georgian Technical University, said.
According to the Georgian Technical University, the events dedicated to the 100th anniversary will be held under the UNESCO logo.
