According to the National Bank, all the GEL denomination banknotes issued since 2002 are legal means of payment throughout the country and all legal entities and individuals are required to receive and make payments using these banknotes without any problems.

From January 1, 2022, exchange of all GEL denomination banknotes of 1995-99 issue will be possible only at the Cash Center of the National Bank of Georgia (address: 72, Kakheti Highway, Tbilisi).
