Authorities in Russian-occupied Abkhazia have confirmed that Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) recently breached the region’s airspace.
According to media aligned with the occupation regime, de facto leader Badra Gunba convened a meeting with members of the so-called government in response to the incident. Gunba reportedly directed officials to step up coordination with Russia’s border service and the Russian military’s 7th base in an effort to prevent further airspace violations.
The meeting also emphasized the need to bolster the protection of key infrastructure in the occupied region. Officials discussed intensifying cooperation with Russian forces to improve surveillance and defense capabilities around critical facilities.
