The so-called Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the occupied Tskhinvali region has responded to the investigative commission established by the Georgian Parliament, emphasizing that those responsible for military aggression, ordering the invasion of "South Ossetia," attacking peacekeepers, and committing acts of genocide against the Ossetian people must be held accountable.

The ministry stated that "only time will tell" how "accurately and transparently" the current commission will approach the assessment of the August 2008 events. However, it pointed to the findings of the international commission led by Heidi Tagliavini, which concluded that Georgia was the aggressor in the conflict.
