"Starting from 28 to 30 October this year, movement from occupied Abkhazia to the territory controlled by the central government was illegally restricted to all persons except those in need of medical assistance," the State Security Service reports.

According to the State Security Service, such illegal decisions are often associated with various fictitious reasons, including the protection of security in connection with the ongoing elections in the territory controlled by the central government.

"The Russian occupation forces made similar damaging decisions in connection with the first round of the 2021 municipal elections.

The central government has activated a hotline and informed the European Union Monitoring Mission about the restrictions on free movement," the Agency stated.
