"The Russian occupation forces have illegally detained two citizens near the occupied village of Dirbi in the Kareli municipality in central Georgia," - the State Security Service of Georgia reported.

Reportedly, the hotline operated for information exchange on developments along the occupation line, and informed the European Union Monitoring Mission and Co-Chairs of the Geneva International Discussions - a platform for facilitating talks on the consequences of the 2008 war between the two states - about the incident.

The Service also said work was underway with international partners to ensure release of the illegally detained nationals.
