Giorgi Salakaia, the founder of Badagoni wine company, was awarded the title of Honorary Senakeli.
Gogi Salakaia is the founder and chairman of the supervisory board of the leading wine company Badagoni. He is also a Doctor of Technical Sciences and Honorary Consul of the Republic of San Marino in Georgia.
The construction of St. Barbara church in the Isula village of Senaki municipality is connected with the name of Gogi Salakaia. He is known for supporting a number of charitable, cultural, educational and social projects. His contribution to the ongoing archaeological works in the Alaverdi monastery complex is invaluable. Since 2002, he has been named the Most Successful Young Entrepreneur of the year in Georgia. In different years, Gogi Salakaia has been awarded the titles of the leader among the Georgian wine exporters and the world-wide quality guarantor.
"This is a special motivation to do even more in the exceptionally historical town of Senaki, where we will always be delighted to visit. Here is an example of love and friendship, and most importantly, this is the place, where many heroes of our country grew up," - Giorgi Salakaia said, while delivering a speech.
In addition, 15 more people, including the weightlifter Lasha Talakhadze, were awarded the title of Honorary Senakeli.
The event was held in Nokalakevi. Today, Senaki is celebrating a public holiday - Egrisoba, and various events have been taking place in the municipality since morning. The event will end with a gala concert in the evening, in which famous artists will participate, including: Shvidkatsa, Georgian Voices, Theatrical Quartet, Alilo, Forte and Davit Mazanashvili's band.
