The Georgian National Tourism Administration (GNTA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Thomas Cook, India's largest travel agency, in Mumbai to launch a comprehensive marketing campaign aimed at increasing awareness of Georgia in India, as announced by the GNTA .
Maia Omiadze, Head of the National Tourism Administration, stated, "We are actively focusing on the Indian market to attract more tourists to Georgia." She also emphasized plans for joint marketing initiatives, noting, "We are participating in various events, including OTM 2025, Asia's leading Travel Trade Show. We have brought 45 private companies to this exhibition, and we are organizing joint events to raise awareness about Georgia in India."
Rajeev Kale, President for Leisure and Travel at Thomas Cook, expressed enthusiasm for promoting Georgia in India, highlighting the opportunity to introduce the country's culture, wine, hospitality, and overall appeal. "We are committed to bringing many tourists from India to Georgia," he remarked.
Vakhtang Jaoshvili, the Georgian Ambassador to India, who was also present at the signing ceremony, emphasized the significance of the memorandum, noting that over 100,000 Indian tourists visited Georgia in the previous year.
