The Director General of the National Archives of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia, Teona Iashvili hosted the Vice President of the German National Film Archive, Bundesarchiv, Alexander Tietze. The guest visited Georgia at the invitation and organization of the Georgian office of the Max Weber Foundation.

The parties introduced the specifics of the work of their archives to each other and talked about strengthening further cooperation. One of the main topics of the meeting was the opportunity to share the German experience in the document protection, digitization, restoration and electronic archives.

Within the framework of the visit, the guest got acquainted with the specifics of the work of the National Archives, the activities of the restoration laboratory and viewed the documents about Germany preserved in the Georgian archival funds.

The National Archives signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Georgia office of the Max Weber Foundation in 2024 and cooperates within the framework of various scientific and research projects.
