The Batumi City Court has concluded the hearings in the administrative case of Mzia Amaglobeli, the founder of the media outlets "Batumelebi" and "Netgazeti." A decision is expected to be announced on March 18.
Amaglobeli, who attended the proceedings remotely, maintains her innocence. Her defense team argues that the arrest report was fabricated, claiming they have video evidence to support their case.
Official records state that Amaglobeli was detained under Article 173 for allegedly insulting police officers. The incident occurred on January 11, when she was initially held for an hour on administrative charges near the Adjara Police Department. After her release, she was re-arrested on criminal charges, accused of slapping Batumi Police Chief Irakli Dgebuadze.
Amaglobeli denies all charges and protested her detention by going on a 38-day hunger strike.
